Job summary

Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park in downtown Atlanta seeks a Banquet Server to provide personalized service and develop guest relationships during events. You will understand menus, serve food and beverages, and ensure quality and timing of service across banquets.

The role requires hands-on food and beverage knowledge, flexibility to work nights/weekends, and a positive, guest-centric attitude. Certifications (ServeSafe, TIPS) and strong English communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Hands-on food and beverage knowledge and hospitality experience.
• Minimum relevant serving experience in a large convention hotel preferred.
• Willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• Clear English communication with guests, management and staff.
• Must have ServeSafe Food Handlers and TIPS Alcohol certifications.

Responsibilities

• Consistent maintenance and refinement of service standards. Ensures compliance with all hotel standards and local laws.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation awareness standards. Prepare daily for health department inspections.
• Polish china, glass, silver and holloware; brew coffee; clean and fill condiments; serve food and beverages; set up and break down buffets and stations.
• Set up and break down of assigned banquet events.
• Perform banquet sidework as assigned by management including cleaning equipment, tables, walls, and carpets.
• Maintain high-quality meeting room sets, service, food quality and presentation for all banquet events.
• Assist culinary with food and beverage assembly and plate-up as needed.
• Retrieve and deliver linen as required at end of each event.
• Adhere to trash procedures and support sanitation.
• Oversee banquet operations flow from kitchen to banquet areas ensuring timely delivery.
• Maintain knowledge of all food and beverage menu items.
• Report to management any maintenance needs of banquet areas and equipment.
• Maintain all furniture and equipment to a high standard; minimize breakage.
• Contribute to cleanliness and organization of all banquet space, FOH & BOH.
• Execute all instructions on Banquet Event Orders.
• Control food and beverage quantities to avoid waste.
• Ensure positive guest service and respond to complaints to turn guests into return visitors.
• Respond to guest requests accurately and promptly to create a memorable experience.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel offerings and local surroundings.
• Attend daily stand up meetings to gather relevant information prior to events.
• Foster mutual trust and cooperation among coworkers; maintain professional appearance per Omni standards.
• Respond swiftly in emergencies and maintain safe guest environment.
• Attend required trainings and meetings; perform other duties as assigned.
