Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Banquet Server for Illinois State University events. This part-time role delivers food and beverage service at catered functions, from buffets to plated meals, ensuring guest satisfaction.

You'll work under Banquet Captain and Supervisor, handle setup, service execution, and breakdown, and maintain presentation standards while supporting diverse event sizes. Previous banquet/hospitality experience preferred. Flexible shifts and open availability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Previous banquet, catering, food service, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol based on local and state regulations.
• Must maintain a valid TIPS (or equivalent) alcohol-service certification and comply with state regulations.
• A food handler certification may also be required based on state or local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide food and beverage services at catered events.
• Support service styles from buffets to plated meals.
• Deliver a positive guest experience with attentive service.
• Participate in event setup, service execution, and breakdown.
• Work under the direction of the Banquet Captain and Banquet Supervisor.
