Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts is seeking a Banquet Server to support events at Marriott Jacksonville Downtown. On-call, on-site role requiring setup, guest service, and courteous interaction with guests throughout banquet functions.

Responsibilities include assisting the Banquet Manager, greeting guests, serving courses, replenishing beverages, and resetting rooms for subsequent events. Hotel experience and teamwork are valued assets for success.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Pitch-in and help co-workers as a team.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Knowledge of proper table settings and serviceware.
• Ability to transport up to 30 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Effective verbal and written communication for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet room as instructed by Supervisor, including linens, serviceware and glassware.
• Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function details and expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Serve food and beverages per Supervisor specifications to ensure consistency.
• Promptly remove dishes and reset the room for the next function.
• Comply with state, federal, and corporate rules for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction.
• Be available to work on a regular basis and perform other duties as assigned.
