Job summary

Marriott Jacksonville Downtown is seeking a Banquet Server to support the banquet manager in providing excellent guest service during events. The role involves setting up banquet spaces, greeting guests, and serving food and beverages according to supervisor instructions.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their duties.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and serviceware.
• Ability to transport up to 30 lbs in a crowded room.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time; comfortable working in a banquet setting.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet room as instructed by Supervisor to include linen, serviceware and glassware.
• Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve food and beverages in the order and to the Supervisor’s specifications.
• Promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal.
• Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
• Replenish beverages as necessary and check guest satisfaction.
• Reset banquet room for the following function.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
