Job summary

Sycuan-Casino is seeking a banquet server to provide top-tier guest service at resort banquet events. You will review banquet orders, deliver and replenish courses, and ensure room setup, audio-visuals, lighting, and temperature meet guest expectations.

You will enforce responsible beverage policies, handle cash transactions, log discounts, and balance the money drawer. The role emphasizes guest relations, sanitation, and stock management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide guests with service by reviewing banquet event orders and delivering food and beverages.
• Ensure responsible alcohol service policies are followed and monitor guest intoxication.
• Enter cash transactions in POS, count currency, log discounts, balance drawer, and report discrepancies.
• Promote guest relations by responding to requests and providing information on promotions.
• Maintain sanitary banquet areas and dispose of trash per procedures.
• Stock and stockroom organization; submit supply requisitions and clean equipment.

Job Purpose:

Provides service to guests by delivering food and drinks

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)

• Provides guests with serviceby reviewing banquet event order, ensuring and verifying rooms, audio visual equipment, lighting, microphone, sound, and room temperature are set as requested, acknowledging and welcoming guests entering the resort and event rooms, promptly delivering and serving food and beverages, informing banquet captain and kitchen staff of meal adjustments and/or timing of delivery, removing and delivering food courses, and refilling and/or removing glassware as appropriate.
• Ensures responsible alcohol beverage service polices are followedby asking for proper identification from guests that appear to be under the age of 30, monitoring alcohol consumption, ensuring guests do not become intoxicated following established procedures, stopping alcohol service at the designated time, and clearing the room of all alcoholic containers, glasses and bottles for each venue at the time specified.

• Provides accounting of transactions during shiftby entering cash transactions in point-of-sale system, counting currency, logging guest discounts, and credit cards on cashier drop work sheet, balancing money drawer against generated cashier report following established procedures, and reporting discrepancies to the food services management team

• Promotes guest relationsby responding to guest requests, offering appropriate up to date information regarding promotional contests and giveaways, providing requested assistance and product knowledge, and treating guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Maintains safe and sanitary banquet areasby cleaning surfaces, breaking-down buffets, beverage tables, storing equipment and supplies in designated areas, and disposing of all trash.
• Ensures banquet equipment and supplies are stocked and cleanby submitting supply requisitions, placing delivered water, food and supplies in designated areas, polishing silverware, folding napkins, and cleaning shelves, condiment holders, tables and counters according to established procedures.

• County of San Diego Food Handler Card
• CA ABC Responsible Beverage Service Certification
• 6 months of food server experience
• 21 years of age

Desirable:

• Guest or Hospitality Service experience
• Cocktail serving experience
• Fine dining server experience
