The Sonnenalp is seeking an On-call Banquets Server.

Primary Purpose of Position

Banquet servers are responsible for all conference services events, including set-up, servicing, breakdown, and cleanup. They may act as hosts, bussers, inventory controllers, and perform other duties while executing their specific responsibilities. The role requires working closely with demanding clientele and staff, maintaining a congenial attitude, and attending to customer requests efficiently and promptly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) at the start of each shift to ensure the room is set as contracted.
• Coordinate A/V equipment needs for events.
• Assist in ensuring events run on time, make necessary adjustments, and communicate updates to relevant personnel.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards in banquet spaces.
• Report guest needs, problems, or concerns to the Banquet Manager.
• Polish silverware and flatware; roll napkins.
• Set up rooms with banquet furniture and fulfill special requests.
• Follow LHW sequence of service and standards.
• Respond professionally to last-minute changes.
• Represent the Sonnenalp team responsibly and courteously.

Education/Experience

• Experience in banquet service within a luxury hotel preferred.
• Basic knowledge of wine and cocktails.
• Personable and able to maintain composure under pressure.
• Strong organizational skills.

Special Skills/Equipment

• Experience with POS systems desired.
• TIPS certification preferred.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Flexible schedule availability.
• Long hours, including 8-12 hour shifts, up to 50 hours per week.
• Ability to carry up to 40 lbs regularly.
