Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Banquet Supervisor at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago to lead banquet and catered event operations. You will supervise banquet captains and servers, ensure events align with BEOs, and manage service quality, staffing, and guest satisfaction.

The role involves coordinating setup, service execution, and breakdown in often high-energy venues, with varying shifts and open availability. A strong background in banquet operations and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–4 years of banquet, catering, or food and beverage service experience.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience in banquet or event operations required.
• TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) or TEAM alcohol training or equivalent.
• Food handler certification may be required based on location.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall supervision and coordination of banquet and catered event operations.
• Oversee Banquet Captains and Banquet Servers to ensure events meet BEOs, standards, and client expectations.
• Ensure operational readiness, staffing oversight, service execution, and issue resolution during events.
• Support preparation, setup, service, breakdown, and cleanup while maintaining safety and guest satisfaction.
