Job summary

The Banquet Captain at Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and executing banquet and event service to ensure a seamless and memorable guest experience. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage teams in a fast-paced setting while upholding service and brand standards.

The position involves assessing schedules, leading setup, training staff, greeting guests, and maintaining service quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience in banquets, catering, or food services.
• TIPS certification and Food Safety certification required.
• Successful completion of a background check prior to employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Assess banquet schedules and arrange staffing for efficient service.
• Lead banquet setup, including table arrangements and décor.
• Develop and execute organized service plans for timely courses.
• Supervise, schedule, and train banquet staff for smooth execution.
• Greet guests and oversee meal pacing and transitions.
• Support daily banquet operations with setup and service.
• Monitor banquet checks for accuracy and policy compliance.
• Track and store banquet equipment for inventory control.
• Follow safety, security, and energy-efficiency procedures.
• Serve as Banquet Manager when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
