Job summary

The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, AZ seeks a Lead Banquet Setup / Houseperson to manage banquet setup, space preparation, and team coordination for events. You will lead the setup team, ensure clean and professional spaces, and respond quickly to guest and event requirements.

Responsibilities include setting up tables and equipment, coordinating with the Banquet Manager, and supporting servers. A strong hospitality mindset and leadership skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Previous banquet operations or hotel events experience preferred.
• Experience leading a setup or housekeeping team is a plus.
• Experience with meetings, conferences, or weddings preferred.
• Hospitality, leadership, and willingness to learn encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Lead banquet setup and breakdown for events.
• Set tables, linens, staging, dance floors, and equipment per orders.
• Review event requirements; ensure rooms prepared before guest arrival.
• Direct banquet housepersons and setup team during functions.
• Maintain clean and professional banquet spaces and service areas.
• Monitor spaces during events and address setup, cleanliness, or equipment needs.
• Assist with moving and arranging tables and chairs safely.
• Communicate changes and needs to Banquet Manager or leadership.
• Support servers with room resets and replenishment.
• Return equipment to storage after events.
