Job summary

The St. Joe Company is seeking an experienced Banquet Manager to work with Sales, F&B, and Culinary teams to ensure flawless event execution and guest satisfaction. You will set up rooms, coordinate staff, oversee service, and ensure proper breakdown and return of items at event end.

The role requires strong organizational skills, hospitality experience, and the ability to manage timelines, inventory, and safety standards across indoor and outdoor venues.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality preferred.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in hospitality and culinary arts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Banquet Sales Director and Head Chef to review sales contracts and Banquet Event Orders (BEO).
• Plan and execute venue layout according to guest count and event type.
• Determine staffing levels including servers and support staff.
• Hire, train, and direct banquet staff for all banquet activities.
• Supervise setup: tables, chairs, cutlery, plates, glasses, linens, centerpieces, heating lamps, serving utensils, carving stations.
• Oversee seating, service of meals/beverages, and clearing of tables.
• Consult with Head Chef on timing of meal courses.
• Manage liquor and soft drinks availability when required.
• Ensure china, cutlery, glassware, linen and equipment are maintained and inventoried.
• Prepare work schedules and timely documentation.
• Aim for profitability by controlling costs and quality of service.
• Achieve budgeted food, beverage and labor costs.
• Contribute to F&B marketing activities.
• Answer customer questions and accommodate special requests.
• Attend operational and BEO meetings.
• Maintain banquet areas as neat, organized and safe.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.
