Job summary

Driftwood Hospitality Management’s Rockwall property seeks a friendly banquet server to assist with the setup and breakdown of event spaces and to serve food and beverages to guests in accordance with the hotel’s high standards of quality.

The role includes attending stand-up meetings, greeting guests, and ensuring smooth service from prep through post-event cleanup, with flexible shifts and a focus on teamwork and professional presentation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Hold a current Food Handler Card.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions.
• Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable safe application of products and processes.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet room as described in BEO and by Banquet Captain, including linen, silverware and glassware.
• Attend stand up meetings before events to learn function particulars.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the Banquet Captain.
• Bus dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal.
• Replenish beverages as necessary and check guest satisfaction.
• Clear and reset banquet rooms after functions per supervisor specs.
• Line out supplies for future functions as needed.
• Perform side work including restocking banquet shelves and condiments.
• Perform general cleaning tasks per health standards.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures and safety rules.
• Know department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
• Use protective equipment and report unsafe conditions.
• Report accidents, injuries, or property damage to supervisor.
• Maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per handbook.
• Perform related duties as requested and assist other banquet personnel.
