Job summary

RENAISSANCE - ST. AUGUSTINE HISTORIC DOWNTOWN is seeking a Banquet Houseman to support setup, breakdown, and maintenance of banquet and event spaces.

You will move and arrange tables, chairs, stages, equipment, and supplies while assisting banquet staff to ensure events run smoothly and safely. The role requires working flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a focus on guest service and adherence to hotel standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of banquet room setup standards and basic event service procedures.
• Ability to follow floor plans, event specifications, and instructions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain clean, organized event and storage areas.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Ability to respond promptly and professionally to last-minute setup changes and service requests.
• Knowledge of safe lifting, moving, handling, and storage practices for banquet equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down banquet rooms, meeting spaces, and event areas according to event specifications and floor plans.
• Arrange tables, chairs, stages, dance floors, podiums, linens, and other banquet equipment as required.
• Assist with the setup of audiovisual equipment, staging, risers, and other event-related equipment.
• Ensure meeting and event spaces are maintained in a guest-ready or site-ready appearance.
• Respond promptly to last-minute setup changes and guest or event staff requests.
• Move and transport tables, chairs, equipment, supplies, and furniture safely throughout the hotel.
• Assist banquet servers, captains, and supervisors with event preparations and service needs.
• Replenish supplies such as linens, glassware, china, silverware, and other banquet items as needed.
• Support other hotel departments as needed to ensure smooth event operations and exceptional guest service.
• Ensure banquet rooms and event spaces are clean, organized, and properly maintained before, during, and after events.
