Job summary

Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel is seeking a Banquet Houseperson to support event services in downtown Toledo, Ohio. You will set up, maintain, and break down banquet spaces to meet guest specifications and event orders, assisting servers and the event team for outstanding guest experiences.

The role involves lifting and moving equipment, maintaining clean banquet areas, and coordinating with banquet leadership to ensure smooth execution.

Qualifications

• Previous banquet, housekeeping, or event setup experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 lbs. and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Team-oriented with a positive and professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms, meeting spaces, and pre-function areas according to event orders and diagrams.
• Move, lift, and arrange tables, chairs, staging, podiums, dance floors, and other equipment as required.
• Ensure all linens, skirting, and table settings are clean and properly placed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all banquet and storage areas.
• Assist banquet servers and event staff with service setup and breakdown as needed.
• Refresh meeting rooms during events, including changing water service, resetting tables, and removing trash.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to management immediately.
• Ensure all equipment is stored properly and safely after each event.
• Maintain communication with the Banquet Captain, Manager, and other departments to ensure smooth event execution.
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures as required by hotel policy.
