Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park in downtown Atlanta seeks a Banquet Cook 1 to deliver high-quality standards in banquet food production for events. Placement may be Cook 1, 2, or 3 based on experience.

You will work in a fast-paced luxury hotel, maintaining health standards, coordinating with culinary leadership, and supporting events with precise prep, portion control, and timing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months to 3 years of relevant culinary experience, preferably in high-volume upscale hotel banquet operation.
• Familiar with batch and quantity cooking.
• Thorough knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques.
• Basic math skills needed to interpret recipes and measurements.
• Good eye/hand coordination to operate kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while upholding Omni standards.
• Ability to stay calm and welcoming under stress.
• Ability to collaborate with co-workers inside and outside of your department.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow up.
• Ability to produce high volumes while maintaining quality.
• Working knowledge of sanitation standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsabilités

• Prepare all items on BEOs or cover sheets according to standard procedure or supervisor instructions.
• Prepare all items on prep lists following standard procedure or supervisor directions.
• Maintain high quality by inspecting food products during prep and service.
• Check portion control, weights, and counts prior to function.
• Fire all food in accordance with 30-minute SOP.
• Maintain cooking times and temperatures.
• Follow storage procedures for walk-in items and returns.
• Keep work area, walk-in, prep area and equipment clean and sanitary.
• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipes and standards.
• Date and rotate perishables, ensure proper temperatures.
• Check pars for shift use and note shortages.
• Return unused items to storage with proper cover/date.
• Cooperate with other cooks to support events or special requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Culinary leadership.
