Job summary

Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park is seeking a Banquet Cook 2 to deliver high-quality banquet culinary service in a luxury hotel setting. You will be placed in Cook 1, 2, or 3 levels based on experience and will prepare items for BEOs and events.

Responsibilities include ensuring quality, portion control, proper temps, and adherence to SOPs, while maintaining clean work areas and complying with health standards. Must be able to work weekends/holidays and lift up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 3 years culinary experience, preferably in high-volume upscale hotel banquet operation.
• Familiarity with batch and quantity cooking.
• Thorough knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques.
• Basic math skills to understand/implement recipes and measurements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining Omni standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare items on BEOs or cover sheets per SOP or supervisor instruction.
• Prepare prep-list items following standard procedures.
• Inspect food for quality on prep and service lines.
• Check portion control, weights, and counts prior to function.
• Cook foods to SOP timelines and temperatures.
• Maintain cooking times and temperatures.
• Follow storage procedures for walk-ins and returns.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Keep equipment and areas up to Health Dept standards.
• Prepare food to recipe cards and production standards.
• Rotate perishables and date containers.
• Note shortages and par levels for shifts.
• Coordinate with other cooks for events or special requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Culinary leadership.
