Job summary

Loews Chicago Hotel is seeking a Banquet Cook II to prepare and cook high-quality food for hotel banquet events, including conferences, weddings, and corporate functions. You will support culinary leadership and ensure large-volume production with consistency and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in hotel banquet or catering kitchens, knowledge of kitchen stations, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs; ServSafe preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a hotel, banquet, or catering kitchen.
• Knowledge of banquet-style service, buffet prep, and large-volume cooking.
• Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe preferred).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook hot and cold menu items for events per BEOs and recipes.
• Set up and maintain banquet kitchen stations (grill, sauté, carving, buffet).
• Collaborate with Cook I and Banquet Chef to ensure on-time delivery and proper presentation.
• Maintain mise en place and cleanliness throughout service.
• Assist in plating and service for buffet and plated meals.
• Ensure proper labeling, storage, and sanitation per health standards.
• Support junior team members with training and guidance as needed.
• Work with event staff to meet banquet timelines and guest expectations.
