Job summary

The Dunlin, Auberge Collection, on Johns Island, SC, is seeking a Banquet Houseperson Captain to oversee event setup, staff coordination, and smooth execution of functions. You will be the behind-the-scenes force ensuring spaces are transformed into captivating environments for unforgettable gatherings.

Applicants should be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, with physical stamina to lift heavy items and move equipment.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or equivalent education.
• Must be able to adhere to timelines in completion of set-ups.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs.
• Prior customer service training is a plus.
• Must be able to perform in a team-oriented environment
• Must have the ability to move/maneuver in a banquet environment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds with ease, 75 pounds occasionally and higher weights as needed to accomplish guest service
• Walking, standing, stooping, squatting, bending or other types of physical movement, sometimes for more than one hour

Responsibilities

• Oversee the setup, breakdown, and implementation of resort special events.
• Attend all functions, managing staff for the event and overseeing smooth implementation.
• Maintain complete knowledge of the daily scheduled group functions, times, locations, number of people; location of all Hotel function space and names of rooms; all styles of meeting and banquet room settings.
• Break down function areas as scheduled in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Inspect cleanliness and working condition of all equipment and supplies to be set up in function area; rectify any deficiencies.
