Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Hospitality degree or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as banquet captain or similar role.
• Strong leadership and staff-management abilities.
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Excellent customer service skills even in stressful situations.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and lift/move furniture.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements.
• Assist managers with planning event layouts and logistics.
• Prepare work schedules and complete documentation.
• Set up and manage staff shifts and timetables.
• Supervise placement of tables, chairs, cutlery, and centerpieces.
• Provide staff training on customer service and etiquette.
• Manage event setup and run floor, coordinating with kitchen and service staff.
• Monitor inventory of supplies, equipment, and furniture.
• Attend to guests' requests, questions, and complaints.
• Keep venue clean and safe, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
