Job summary

The Merrill Hotel Muscatine is seeking a Banquet Captain to oversee banquet and event service operations, lead staff during meetings, weddings, conferences and special events, and ensure exceptional guest experiences on site.

You will coordinate event setup, service execution and breakdown while maintaining hospitality, safety and efficiency standards, delivering a high level of professional customer service and seamless banquets for our guests.

Responsibilities

• Assist in set-up procedures to ensure room design is executed correctly
• Maintain a timeline of events to ensure seamless service
• Ensure cleanliness of space and all equipment
• Collaborate on buffet set up, drink stations and snack tables for each event as needed
• Organize work area and storage area
• Provide a high level of professional customer service at all times
• Provide set up, service and tear down of each scheduled event
• Respond promptly and courteously to requests
• Must be able to carry a full tray of 6-8 plates with food on them
• Carry trays with multiple drinks on it.
• Coordinate with Banquet Captains and Food and Beverage Leadership to execute successful banquets onsite at the hotel.
• Deliver food and beverages from staging areas to guests

Job description
