Job summary

Pre-Event Planning

Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to confirm room layouts, seating arrangements, timelines, special dietary requests, and audio-visual needs.

Team Leadership & Briefing

Conduct pre-shift huddles to assign server stations, communicate VIP details, and review service expectations.

Kitchen & Bar Coordination

Sync service timing, course drops, and bar pacing with the culinary and bartending teams.

Floor Supervision

Monitor service flow, food presentation, and guest satisfaction throughout the event.

Guest Relations

Act as the primary on-floor contact for event hosts, handle special requests, and resolve complaints discreetly and quickly.

Post-Event Breakdown

Oversee room clearing, inventory tracking, equipment storage, and final venue walkthroughs.

Experience

Typically 2 to 3+ years of progressive food and beverage or banquet service experience, with prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.

Education

High school diploma required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in hospitality, restaurant management, or a related field is often preferred.

Age & Legal Requirements

Must usually be at least 21 years old to manage or oversee alcohol service.

Certifications

Current Food Handler’s card, T.I.P.S. (Training for Intervention Procedures), or ServSafe certifications are frequently required.

Physical & Availability Demands

Ability to stand and walk for long shifts, lift up to 25-50 lbs, and maintain mandatory availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
