Job summary

Carneros Resort and Spa is seeking a Banquet Captain – Back of House to lead and coordinate the behind-the-scenes preparation and execution of banquet and event operations. This role requires strategic planning, staging, and ensuring Ready State across BOH workflows.

The successful candidate will supervise Housemen, FOH Captains, Servers, Culinary, Stewarding, and Events teams, anticipate needs, and drive proactive event readiness while maintaining luxury hospitality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous banquet, hotel, restaurant, catering, stewarding, or event operations experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory or Captain experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review upcoming event schedule and develop an organized operational plan.
• Coordinate approved pre-sets for tables, chairs, linen, glassware, china, silverware, bars, service stations, equipment, and other event requirements.
• Ensure pre-sets follow approved BEOs and floor plans.
• Plan breakdown and event readiness before service begins.
• Lead BOH employees and ensure Ready State standards are maintained.
• Maintain clear communication with Banquet Manager and FOH Captain throughout the shift.
• Protect equipment and assets and ensure safe, efficient event operations.
• Understand Run of Show, floor plans, event timelines, and Runs of Show.
