Ballard Spahr LLP, which recently combined with Lane Powell PC, seeks an associate to join its sophisticated Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights practice in Seattle, Washington. The role involves representing parties in bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditors’ rights litigation, including loan workouts, enforcement actions, and receiverships.

Requirements include 4–8 years of relevant experience and an active bar license in Washington (waivable in). Oregon or California licenses are a plus.

• Active bar license in Washington, or ability to waive in.

Position Overview

Ballard Spahr LLP, which recently combined with Lane Powell PC, is seeking a highly qualified associate to join its sophisticated Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights practice in Seattle, Washington.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent parties in bankruptcy, restructuring, and/or creditors’ rights litigation, including loan workouts, loan enforcement actions, receiverships, foreclosures, and other creditors’ rights/insolvency related litigation.
• Represent lenders, trade creditors, landlords, and debtors in workouts and restructurings, enforcement actions, receiverships, and bankruptcy, including Chapter 9, 11 and 15 cases, and distressed asset acquisitions and restructurings both in and out-of-court.

Requirements

• 4 to 8 years of experience representing parties in bankruptcy, restructuring, and/or creditors’ rights litigation.
• Experience handling loan workouts, loan enforcement actions, receiverships, foreclosures, and other creditors’ rights/insolvency related litigation.
• Excellent drafting and legal writing skills, attention to detail, and strong academic credentials.
• Active bar license in Washington, or ability to waive in.
• Active bar license in Oregon and/or California is a plus.

Remuneration

The salary range for this position is from $250,000 – $330,000, which reflects the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will depend on several factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
