Job summary

Georgia’s Own Credit Union seeks a Universal Banker I to blend teller duties with selling responsibilities and provide friendly, knowledgeable service to members and prospects. You will process transactions, open accounts, discuss loan options, and guide members to suitable products while ensuring policy compliance.

This role emphasizes relationship building, issue resolution, and branch support using available technology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–3 years in a financial branch or financial/retail environment.
• Availability to cover at other branches and Saturday rotations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with loan applications and policies.
• Knowledge of current industry offers and lending policies.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must pass a background check including credit, drug screen, bondability and criminal background.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and ensure they feel valued and connected across in person, phone, or digital channels.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other transactions; issue checks and redeem savings bonds.
• Maintain a balanced teller record per balancing standards.
• Follow policies and comply with laws while solving problems and handling difficult situations.
• Assist with branch operations such as ATM balancing and vault duties; support audits.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of branch technology (ATMs, cash recyclers, check scanning, ITMs).
• Educate members on services and consult on deposits and loans to meet goals.
• Document member interactions in the IRM system and follow up timely.
