Job summary

Georgia's Own Credit Union is seeking a Universal Banker I to join a dynamic team. You will serve as a teller and trusted financial guide, helping members with deposits, loans, and account services while promoting credit union products.

The role emphasizes exceptional service, regulatory compliance, and a consultative approach to member financial needs. The position offers competitive hourly pay of $23.00 and a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and equivalent years of experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• One to three years’ experience in a financial branch environment or similar
• Coverage at other branches and Saturday rotation
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking with members
• Experience with the loan application process and internal policies/procedures
• Knowledge of current industry offers, market trends, and lending policies
• Ability to interpret financial information (scores, assets, balances, payments, interest) and perform math functions
• Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint; background check required

Responsibilities

• Greet members warmly and connect them to Georgia’s Own Credit Union.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, loan/credit card payments, and other transactions.
• Balance records per teller standards.
• Handle problems and inquiries per policies while staying compliant.
• Operate branch technology and systems (ATMs, cash recyclers, ITMs, etc.).
• Open/close Consumer and Business Membership accounts.
• Explain services and educate members on credit union benefits.
• Assess needs and suggest deposit products and lending options.
• Document interactions and follow up for member needs.
