Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking a Banking Operations Specialist to support core banking migrations, cutovers, and go-live events. The role emphasizes General Ledger mapping, subledger-to-GL balancing, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation during mock conversions, testing cycles, and live deployments.

Travel will be substantial, with 50–60% of time on site or on client sites, typically 1–2 trips per month, durations 6–9 days, and all business travel expenses covered by the company.

Qualifications

• Education & Professional Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent demonstrated professional accounting experience.
• Financial Institution Experience: Prior accounting or finance experience working directly within a bank, credit union, or financial institution.
• GL Operations & Balancing: Deep understanding of General Ledger accounting workflows, chart of accounts structures, out-of-balance research, and complex account reconciliations.
• Journal Entries & Postings: Hands-on experience preparing, reviewing, and posting standard, recurring, and adjusting journal entries.
• Testing & Implementation: Proven ability to support system cutover activities, chart of accounts mapping, test script validation, and post-migration financial tie-outs.
• Conversion Background: Previous involvement in bank core migrations, financial platform upgrades, or bank merger and acquisition cutovers.

Responsibilities

• Support General Ledger mapping during mock conversion runs, active testing cycles, and live go-live events.
• Focus on subledger-to-GL balancing, journal entry verification, and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Contribute to chart of accounts mapping, test script validation, and post-migration financial tie-outs.
