Job summary

Mechanics Bank is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our on-site team. You will handle routine teller tasks, assist customers with account maintenance, and provide referrals for additional products and services while delivering high-quality service.

The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to policies, and strong attention to detail in a collaborative, in-person setting at Mechanics Bank locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 1 year banking environment experience preferred with basic knowledge of deposit products and services.
• 1 year customer service and cash handling experience in a customer-facing role required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member.
• Ability to make decisions using information available.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine teller transactions and serve clients with deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, payments, transfers, and mail/night drop transactions.
• Assist with account reconciliations, statement copies, check orders, address changes, stop payments, debit card maintenance, and safe deposit box entries; assist at other branches as needed.
• Provide exemplary customer service in person and over the phone; identify additional needs and refer to products/services as appropriate.
