Job summary

Mechanics Bank is seeking a Customer Service Representative to work on-site. You will handle routine teller transactions, assist customers with deposits, withdrawals, and transfers, and promote bank products while maintaining high service standards.

You will balance cash, monitor transactions for potential issues, support branch operations, and assist with compliance duties. A friendly, detail‑oriented team player with a year of banking/customer service experience is ideal.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required; additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a banking environment with basic knowledge of bank deposit products and services preferred.
• 1 year in customer service and cash handling experience in a customer facing role required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member.
• Ability to understand customer loan requests and make appropriate referrals.
• Ability to understand customer requests for additional services and make appropriate referrals.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine teller transactions and service customers in line with policies and security guidelines.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, checks, transfers, and mail/night drop transactions accurately.
• Provide customer service, educate on banking technology, and recommend products and services.
• Maintain cash balancing, review transactions for red flags, and support branch security.
• Complete compliance tasks and assist with branch audits as required.
