Job summary

Southern Bank and Trust is seeking a Customer Service Representative I to support Greenville, NC customers by opening new accounts, servicing existing accounts, and promoting bank products and services. You will greet customers, provide information, and resolve basic account questions to meet customer needs in a fast paced retail environment.

This full-time role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and knowledge of bank policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of community bank retail services and applicable bank products.
• Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements for banking transactions.
• Ability to identify customer needs and suggest suitable bank services.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations.
• Attention to detail and careful judgment in policy and procedure adherence.
• Strong oral and written communication; professional appearance and demeanor.
• Comfort with using standard office equipment and software.

Responsibilities

• Open, maintain and close bank retail accounts per policy.
• Actively sell and cross-sell bank products and services to customers.
• Assist customers with information requests or issue resolution promptly.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal contacts.
• Ensure compliance with legal/regulatory mandates and bank policies.
• May function as backup Teller and/or Backup Loan Officer Assistant.
• Prepare control reports related to customer service and branch operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
