Job summary

Mechanics Bank is seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative for our Seaside Branch. Under supervision, you will handle basic to moderately complex banking transactions, deliver high levels of service, and assist customers with product referrals while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

You will also balance cash, follow policies, and support branch operations. The role requires at least 1 year in banking and customer service, with a High School diploma or GED, and a strong focus on

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required; additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a banking environment with basic knowledge of bank deposit products and services preferred.
• 1 year in customer service and cash handling experience in a customer facing role required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member.
• Ability to make decisions using information available.
• Knowledge of applicable Bank policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform teller transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, payments, transfers, and night-drop items.
• Provide exemplary customer service in person and over the phone, and offer product referrals.
• Balance cash and adhere to cash handling policies and security procedures.
• Review transactions for red flags and refer issues to Branch Management as needed.
• Assist with branch opening/closing and compliance tasks.
• Travel: 0-10%.
