Job summary

Mechanics Bank is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our on-site team. This role handles routine to moderately complex teller transactions, delivers high-level service, and assists customers with referrals for additional products.

The position emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and compliance with banking regulations. Travel is 0-10% as needed; strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a banking environment with basic knowledge of bank deposit products and services preferred.
• 1 year in customer service and cash handling experience in a customer facing role required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine teller transactions and works directly with clients. Processes deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, payments, transfers, and mail/night drop transactions.
• Provides exemplary customer service in person and over the phone and identifies additional customer needs for referrals to products and services.
• Maintains cash balance and adheres to cash handling policies; reviews transactions for red flags and fraud; assists in opening/closing the branch with security procedures.
• Gathers data and processes various reports to ensure compliance with Bank policies and regulatory programs; assists with branch audit functions.
