Job summary

Mechanics Bank in California seeks a Customer Service Representative to join the on-site team. You will perform routine teller transactions, assist customers with account maintenance, and provide referrals for additional products and services while delivering high-level service.

Under supervision, you will balance cash, follow banking regulations, and support branch operations. This role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to in-person customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a banking environment preferred.
• 1 year in customer service and cash handling experience in a customer facing role required.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member.
• Knowledge of applicable Bank policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine teller transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, payments, transfers, and mail/night drop transactions.
• Assist customers with account reconciliations, statements, checks, orders, address changes, stop payments, debit card maintenance and safe deposit box entrances.
• Provide exemplary customer service in person and over the phone; identify and refer for additional products and services.
• Maintain cash balancing and adhere to cash handling policies and procedures.
• Assist at other branches as needed and ensure regulatory compliance.
