Job description

As a Kitchen Assistant at Amberley Hall Care Home, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef to provide a high-quality food service within the home, ensuring that high standards are achieved to meet the needs of the residents.

About the role:
Reporting to the Head Chef, the Kitchen Assistant will ensure the highest standards in catering services and dining experiences for our residents, including maintaining public areas like the café and providing refreshments for residents and guests.

Salary:
£12.21 per hour.

Shift Pattern:
0 hours per week, rota basis, Monday to Sunday.

Home Location:
Baldock Drive, King's Lynn, PE30 3DQ.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality catering and dining services.
• Assist with meal service, ensuring dietary requirements are met and areas are clean and stocked.
• Engage with residents in conversation and activities that respect their dignity and communication needs.
• Maintain Health & Safety standards in line with Food Safety and Health & Safety manuals.

Training, Skills & Experience Required:

• Experience in a kitchen or catering environment; care experience is a plus but not essential.
• NVQ Level 2 in Food Hygiene is desirable.
• Reliable, with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Computer literate, familiar with basic Microsoft Office applications.
