Job summary

Oakland Athletics seeks a visionary Vice President, Facilities to oversee the ballpark and related venues, ensuring safety, reliability, and readiness for baseball games, concerts, private events, and community activations. The role drives strategy, maintenance, and capital planning to support a world-class tenant experience.

The executive will manage building systems, sustainability, and vendor relationships while partnering with Events, Security, IT, Finance, and other teams to deliver

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in facilities, engineering, building operations, or related field.
• Experience overseeing large-scale sports or entertainment venues.
• Experience leading and developing teams and cross-functional operations.
• Experience managing budgets and capital projects.
• Strong understanding of building infrastructure and preventive maintenance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Desirable experience with stadium or arena openings.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for daily operations, maintenance, and long-term planning of ballpark facilities.
• Develop and implement facility management strategies supporting diverse programming.
• Lead facility readiness across the event calendar and transitions between activations.
• Partner with Events to set standards, procedures, requirements, and turnover plans.
• Oversee building systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, safety, and automation.
• Establish preventive maintenance programs to ensure reliability and safety of assets.
• Coordinate requirements for players, staff, VIPs, visiting teams, performers, and guests.
• Develop and manage long-term capital improvement plans and budgets.
• Collaborate with construction teams on transition from construction to operations.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance SLAs.
• Create KPIs and reporting for facility performance and costs.
• Mentor and develop facilities team and foster accountability and collaboration.
• Align facility plans with internal departments for current and future needs.
