Job summary

City of Pierre is seeking a dedicated individual to operate equipment at the baling facility, material recovery site and landfill to bale and dispose of solid waste. Shifts vary and may include weekends and holidays.

Required: SD Class A CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements, plus experience with front end loaders, compactors, scarab, dozer and scraper; semi tractor/trailer experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a SD Class A CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements.
• Experience operating a front end loader, compactor, scarab, dozer and scraper; driving a semi tractor and trailer desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate baling facility, material recovery site and landfill equipment to bale waste and dispose of solid waste.
• Work varying shifts, including some weekends and holidays.
• Ensure safe operation of heavy machinery and follow standard procedures.

Job description

The City of Pierre seeks a passionate individual to join our team in making Pierre one of the best places to live, work, and visit. This position is responsible for operating equipment at the baling facility , material recovery site and landfill to bale and dispose of solid waste. Hours involve varying shifts during the week and work on some weekends and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess or have the ability to obtain a SD Class A CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements.

Experience with operating a front end loader, compactor, scarab, dozer and scraper and driving a semi tractor and trailer desirable.

SALARY

$27.62 minimum plus comprehensive benefit package including 100% employer paid employee health, dental and life insurance along with a 6% employer match to the South Dakota Retirement System and 12 paid holidays. Up to $2000 annually for educational reimbursement.Wage offer will be based upon actual education and experience.
