Job summary

The City of Dickinson is hiring a Solid Waste Operator to operate heavy equipment and collection trucks, support waste and recycling operations, and help keep neighborhoods clean and safe.

You will perform equipment maintenance, assist in processing recyclables, monitor landfill operations, and collaborate with other departments to support city-wide environmental goals. The position runs Monday–Friday with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License; ND Class B CDL preferred but not required.
• Two years of related experience preferred but not required.

• Operate and maintain heavy equipment, collection trucks, and tools used for waste collection, disposal, and recycling.
• Assist in processing and preparing solid waste and recyclables for transfer or disposal.
• Monitor material collection and disposal at the landfill and transfer facility.
• Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and facilities; assist with major repairs as needed.
• Support litter control, snow removal, and water management efforts at the landfill.
• Collaborate with other departments and perform other duties as assigned.

$24.24 - $26.76 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
