Job summary

PCC Community Markets in Kirkland, WA is seeking a Bakery Steward to support our PCC and Vendor Bakery program. You will work with the Deli Manager and Merchandiser to maintain displays, quality, and stock levels that enhance the customer experience.

You will collaborate with bakery teams to align merchandising with daily production, manage inventory, and execute seasonal displays while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

High performance and knowledge of bakery practices or equivalent experience.
Open availability for flexible scheduling including mornings, evenings, weekends.

Responsibilities

Manage inventory and merchandising in collaboration with the in-house bakery team.
Create and maintain visually attractive displays aligned with standards and promotions.
Review sales with Deli Manager and Deli Retail Merchandiser to adjust orders and stock.
Order bakery items and ingredients according to forecasts and promotions.
Rotate products to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
Design displays to promote key items and seasonal sales.
Execute seasonal displays and promotions on schedule.
Coordinate themed displays and holiday features with Deli Retail Merchandiser.
Collaborate with Deli Manager to align merchandising with production and cross-merchandising opportunities.
Monitor stock levels and ensure shelves are stocked and rotated.
Minimize shrink through proper handling and presentation.

Overview

The Bakery Steward role will be instrumental in supporting our PCC and Vendor Bakery program. This individual will work closely with the Deli Manager, Deli Retail Merchandiser and Deli Operations Manager to maintain best practices and program guidelines for our Bakery program. The Bakery Steward is responsible for ensuring the Bakery department delivers a visually appealing, high-quality, and well-stocked product display to enhance the shopping experience for customers.

Main Job Responsibilities

This role involves inventory management, creative merchandising, and collaboration with the in-house bakery team to drive sales and achieve category goals.
Create and maintain visually attractive product displays that align with company standards, seasonal trends, and promotional campaigns.
Regularly review sales performance with your Deli Manager and Deli Retail Merchandiser to adjust order quantities and ensure stock aligns with department goals and budget.
Prepare and place orders for bakery items, including PCC Commissary items and ingredients in alignment with sales forecasts, promotions, and seasonal demands.
Rotate products regularly to ensure freshness and manage inventory effectively to minimize waste.
Design eye-catching displays that align with company standards to promote key items and sales.
Timely execution of seasonal displays and promotional setups.
Collaborate with the Deli Retail Merchandiser to execute themed displays, special promotions, and holiday features in alignment with company standards.
Work closely with the in-house bakery team to align merchandising efforts with daily production.
Monitor inventory levels to ensure shelves are fully stocked and appropriately rotated.
Minimize shrink by ensuring proper handling, storage, and presentation of products.
Work with the Deli Manager to maintain open communication with other departments to support cross-merchandising opportunities.

Exceptional level of performance in current role including consistently providing excellent, professional customer service and demonstrating knowledge of health and safety codes
Demonstrated proficiency in all relevant Bakery practices or equivalent external experience
Open availability to accommodate flexible scheduling needs for training including mornings, evenings, weekdays, and weekends
Must be able to meet physical demands including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion and lifting 10-40lbs regularly
