Weis Markets in Eldersburg, MD is seeking a bakery associate to deliver warm, friendly service and maintain fresh, well-presented products on the bakery floor. You will greet customers, take orders, assist with display setup, and help ensure product quality and pricing accuracy.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and flexibility with potential opportunities to contribute to bread and pastry production and to support other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or GED.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Keeps bakery department stocked and appealing; smiles, greets customers, makes suggestions and answers questions.
• Takes customer orders over the phone or in person with a positive attitude.
• Sets up special-order tables and builds displays; may write on cakes.
• Ensures merchandise is fresh, properly priced, with signage; handles damaged or non-saleable product.
• May assist with production of breads, pastries and other baked goods.
• Maintains department sanitation and adheres to cleaning schedules and health/OSHA standards.
• Assists with receiving, unloading, and storing deliveries; may operate power or hand jack if trained.
• Assists with baling cardboard; training provided.
• Reports shortages or overages; supports shrink control.
• Cooperates with team to ensure smooth department and store functions.
• Uses PPE such as gloves, safety cutters, footwear; may assist other departments.
