Responsibilities

• Keeps bakery department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand.
• Smiles and greets customers, makes suggestions, answers questions about products.
• Takes customer orders over the phone or in person at the store with a pleasant attitude.
• Sets up special-order tables during peak hours and builds displays; may write on cakes.
• Ensures merchandise is fresh, properly priced with correct signage; handles unsaleable product.
• May assist with production of breads, pastries and other baked goods; follows production logs/recipes.
• Maintains sanitation; follows cleaning schedules and health/OSHA requirements.
• Assists with receiving/unloading deliveries; training provided.
• Assists with baling cardboard; training provided.
• Aids in minimizing shrink and reporting shortages or overages.
• Cooperates with staff to ensure smooth department function; uses PPE.
