Job summary

Izzio Artisan Bakery seeks a Plant Engineering Manager to plan, manage, and coordinate the plant engineering department for efficient manufacturing operations in Louisville.

The role requires strong supervisory skills, a background in plant/industrial engineering, and experience in food manufacturing. Responsibilities include maintenance oversight, contractor coordination, and compliance with GMPs and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 8 years of experience in the manufacturing engineering field
• Minimum of 3 years of food manufacturing experience
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills
• Thorough understanding of plant engineering, industrial engineering, and tooling
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Able to thrive in a changing environment

Responsibilities

• Coordinate priorities across teams with other manufacturing managers
• Assess costs and feasibility of processes and implement efficiency improvements
• Supervise maintenance operations and preventive maintenance program
• Coordinate outside contractors and monitor time, scope, cost, and QA compliance
• Ensure health, safety, and GMP compliance in the plant
• Participate in safety investigations and training
• Maintain parts inventory and coordinate purchases
• Liaise with QA and regulatory agencies during inspections
