Job summary

Levain Bakery is seeking an Assistant General Manager in New York City to lead bakery operations, supervise staff, and ensure exceptional customer service. You will partner with the General Manager to optimize daily processes, manage payroll, and uphold food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 3–5 years in food service with 1–2 years in supervision, strong communication, and hands-on leadership. A hands-on approach to team development and guest experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years in food service, QSR, or retail with 1–2 years supervisory experience.
• Open availability: mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid DOH certifications and regional required food handler certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead bakery staff, including shift leads, bakers, retail team members, trainers, and porters.
• Foster inclusion and DEI principles across bakery operations.
• Manage daily tasks, cash reconciliations, payroll close, and inventory accuracy.
• Coach, assess performance, and provide development opportunities.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve inquiries with a calm, proactive approach.
