Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is hiring for a Store Manager in Training at our Purdue Univ store located at 602 W Stadium Ave, West Lafayette, IN. You’ll work closely with the Bakery Operations Manager to build a capable team and deliver warm, memorable guest experiences.

As an MIT, you’ll learn the business, grow as a leader, and prepare to run a bakery of your own. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership across staffing, inventory, and operations to support peak evening and weekend demand.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or similar.
• Experience coaching and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Willingness to learn bakery operations and lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day bakery operations alongside the BOM.
• Lead bakery independently when the BOM is away.
• Coach, motivate, and develop Shift Leaders and Crew.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training.
• Help create schedules and manage labor.
• Maintain high standards for quality and cleanliness.
• Complete operational and administrative tasks on time.
• Identify opportunities to improve bakery performance with Area leadership.
• Help create a culture of accountability and ownership.
• Fill in wherever needed, from serving guests to baking cookies during peak times.
