Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager in Richmond, VA (918 W Grace St, Richmond, VA 23220) to lead daily bakery operations, build the next generation of Bakery Operations Managers, and ensure urgency, accuracy, and accountability in a fast-paced setting.

The ABOM will oversee staffing, training, and performance, work with the BOM and Area leadership to close operational gaps, and maintain operations during leadership transitions, with a clear path toward BOM

Qualifications

• 1+ year leadership experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality operations.
• Strong operational discipline and attention to detail.
• Ability to coach and develop hourly team members.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
• Ability to perform all bakery roles during peak business periods.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute core bakery operations, including inventory rotation, scheduling support, staffing coordination, and admin checklists.
• Maintain product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and guest experience standards.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and training of new staff; provide coaching and real-time feedback.
• Manage bakery operations independently in the absence of the BOM; coordinate with BOM and leadership to address gaps.
