Insomnia Cookies in Worcester, MA is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager to develop the next generation of Bakery Operations Managers. This role blends hands-on bakery execution with leadership, accountability, and talent development to run a bakery with urgency and high standards.

You will support scheduling, staffing, inventory, quality, and guest experience while coaching hourly team members and maintaining bakery operations in the BOM’s absence.

Qualifications

• 1+ year leadership experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality operations.
• Strong operational discipline and attention to detail.
• Ability to coach and develop hourly team members.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
• Ability to perform all bakery roles during peak business periods.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute core bakery operations including scheduling support and staffing coordination.
• Maintain adherence to product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and guest experience standards.
• Support ordering, inventory accuracy, and shrink control.
• Assist in schedule creation and labor execution to meet targets.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and training of new staff.
• Deliver coaching and real-time performance feedback.
• Hold team members accountable to standards with a growth mindset.
• Ensure onboarding and training programs are executed to company standards.
• Manage bakery operations independently in the absence of the BOM.
• Model urgency, accountability, and operational discipline.
• Partner with BOM and Area leadership to identify gaps and implement solutions.
• Maintain continuity of operations during leadership transitions or staffing shortages.
