Insomnia Cookies in Abilene, TX is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager to partner with the Bakery Operations Manager, build an energized team, ensure guest experiences, and keep the bakery running at its best.

You will coach shift leaders and crew, participate in recruiting, scheduling, inventory, and training, and step in to lead when the BOM is away. This role offers growth into bakery leadership within a fast-paced sweet-hour environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or a customer-focused environment.
• Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump into bakery roles when needed.
• 18+ years old and able to obtain required food safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Bakery Operations Manager to lead day-to-day bakery operations and guest experience.
• Lead the bakery independently when the BOM is away and keep the team focused.
• Coach and develop Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew through real-time feedback and recognition.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and training to build a fully staffed team.
• Help create schedules, manage labor, and handle inventory, rotation, and shrink control.
• Maintain high standards for quality, food safety, cleanliness, and speed of service.
