Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is hiring an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM) in Philadelphia to partner with the BOM and lead daily bakery operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and a well‑staffed, high‑performing team.

You will coach shift leaders and crew, assist with recruiting and training, manage schedules and labor, and uphold quality, safety, and speed of service. This role is a stepping stone to running your own Insomnia bakery in the future.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
• Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump into any bakery role when needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and building great teams.
• Must be 18+ and able to obtain food safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Partner with your BOM to lead day-to-day bakery operations and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Lead the bakery independently when the BOM is away, keeping the team focused and operations running smoothly.
• Coach, motivate, and develop Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew members through real-time feedback and support.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training to build a strong, fully staffed team.
• Help create schedules and manage labor to meet the needs of the bakery and the business.
• Support ordering, inventory management, product rotation, and shrink control.
• Maintain high standards for product quality, food safety, cleanliness, and speed of service.
• Identify opportunities to improve bakery performance and implement solutions with BOM and Area leadership.
