Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager in Grand Rapids, MI. This leadership role develops the next generation of Bakery Operations Managers, blending hands‑on operational excellence with talent development and team leadership.

The ABOM will execute core bakery operations, support recruiting and onboarding, coach hourly staff, and stand in for the BOM when needed. This role requires urgency, accuracy, and accountability, with a clear path toward BOM ownership.

Qualifications

• 1+ year leadership experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality operations.
• Strong operational discipline and attention to detail.
• Ability to coach and develop hourly team members.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
• Ability to perform all bakery roles during peak business periods.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute core bakery operations including scheduling and inventory.
• Ensure product quality, cleanliness, and guest experience standards.
• Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training of staff.
• Provide real-time coaching and accountability.
• Operate bakery independently in the absence of the BOM.
• Collaborate with BOM and leadership to close gaps.
