Job summary

Aspire Bakeries' Alsip bakery is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance on bakery equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations that support continuous production and food quality.

You will diagnose malfunctions, assist production teams, document activities in the CMMS, and coordinate with bakery personnel and external contractors while maintaining GMPs and a safe work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of mechanical and/or electrical experience in industrial/manufacturing machinery.
• Or 3 years of mechanical and/or electrical experience in industrial/manufacturing machinery.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment functions, operating procedures, and maintenance techniques.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and plan activities effectively.
• Ability to work safely around moving equipment in a production environment.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance on bakery equipment to minimize downtime and support safe, reliable operation.
• Assist production teams in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and verify equipment readiness after repairs, changeovers, or downtime.
• Support troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and basic PLC-related issues.
• Operate tools and equipment such as saws, drills, power tools, scissor lifts, and forklifts in a safe and compliant manner.
• Document maintenance activities and findings in the Maintenance Management System and communicate updates via computer and email.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in alignment with GMPs, safety programs, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate work with bakery personnel and escort external contractors to minimize disruption to production and maintenance schedules.
