Job summary

ShopRite of Medford is seeking a Bakery Manager to lead the Bakery Department, supervise associates, and drive sales, customer satisfaction, and safety compliance. This role reports to the General Store Manager and requires strong leadership, safety training, and a focus on service priorities.

Responsibilities include directing bakery operations, ensuring product quality, managing staffing, and upholding health and safety standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• English literacy required.
• Basic math proficiency.
• Stand/walk for full shifts.
• Basic computer functions.
• Able to lift 25 lbs. regularly and up to 60 lbs. occasionally.
• Work with fresh/dried/processed products without allergies.
• Adapt to varying temperatures in bakery.
• Handle dust/cleaning agents safely.
• Be able to climb ladders for overhead storage.
• Interact with customers in a friendly manner.
• Lead and motivate associates to meet dept goals.
• Adhere to all schedules and attendance policies.
• Engage Associates to drive department success.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise Bakery Department operations and staff.
• Drive sales, profits, customer experience, and associate engagement.
• Ensure safety, food safety compliance, and department cleanliness.
• Maintain temperature logs and production sheets.
• Monitor pricing, display, and stocking standards.
• Ensure training and onboarding of new department associates.
• Prepare for and respond to regulatory and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with store management and other departments.
• Support catering and special orders as needed.
• Maintain staffing levels to meet sales and customer needs.
