Job summary

ShopRite of Emerson, NJ is seeking a Bakery Manager to lead the Bakery Department, supervise associates, and drive sales and customer experience. You will oversee safety standards, inventory, and day-to-day operations under the General Store Manager.

You will need excellent communication, teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 60 lbs. Prior bakery or retail leadership is preferred; this is a full-time role with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for a full shift.
• Ability to perform basic computer functions.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. regularly and up to 60 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried, and/or processed products.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents.
• Ability to climb a ladder to access overhead storage.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to meet schedules and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all functions and activities of the Bakery Department.
• Lead and engage Associates to achieve department goals.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and compliance with HAACP and food handling procedures.
• Monitor daily production, inventory, and display readiness.
• Provide training and ongoing development for department staff.
• Maintain temperature logs and production sheets.
• Ensure customer experience and presentation standards.
