We are seeking a Bakery/Lead Clerk to support our department in the absence of the manager, ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer service. The role involves mastering Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including merchandising, scheduling, and safety protocols, while demonstrating our core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Encourage teamwork and cooperative interactions with co-workers.
• Provide excellent customer service by welcoming, serving, and assisting customers.
• Ensure proper staffing and efficient utilization of labor.
• Operate equipment such as knives, box cutters, and pricing guns according to guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with customers and respond promptly to questions and requests.
• Follow opening and closing procedures as per SOPs.
• Adhere to SOPs for storage, coding, pricing, and transfer of products.
• Manage product removal, disposal of unsellable items, and merchandising displays.
• Monitor product temperatures and maintain freshness.
• Oversee product portion control and receiving procedures.
• Perform baking, glazing, topping, and thawing in accordance with SOPs.
• Stock shelves correctly and ensure proper product placement.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Maintain flexibility to work various shifts and locations.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting, pushing, pulling, and working in different temperatures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, with 1+ years of retail experience or related education.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Friendly, approachable, and a team player.
• Good judgment and decision-making skills.
• Strong math skills and ability to interpret documents.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
